Due to ongoing COVID-19 concerns, your Outreach Committee is still unable to register clients and run the Christmas Assistance and Angel gift programs in the way we have done in the past. However, we remain committed to helping our low-income community members as best we can.
The Outreach Committee will again be supporting ‘Caring and Sharing’ this year with a financial donation that is similar to what we spent on gift cards in the past. Caring and Sharing provides financial help to families in need at Christmas.
We would still appreciate your help with the Angel Gifts, but the process will be similar to last year’s. Needy families in our area will be able to access children’s gifts by registering with the Toy Mountain program. There are 3 ways you can contribute to a gift:
- Send a financial contribution to Woodroffe United Church, designated “For the Angel Gift program” and we will send it to Toy Mountain for you.
- Send a donation directly to Toy Mountain (website: ottawa.ctvnews.ca/toy-mountain)
- Purchase a gift and drop it off at a Toy Mountain drop-off location (see their website)
Please DO NOT bring any gifts to the Church, as we are not distributing them.
We will not be collecting or distributing toiletries or knitted items, so please do not bring those either.
Your Outreach Committee remains dedicated to providing assistance to our neighbours in this difficult time. We hope to be able to return to our traditional Christmas operations in the future.
