The purpose of the Long Range Planning Committee is to develop plans for the long-term program of Woodroffe United Church that will provide guidelines for achieving progress in all activities of the Church and to devise ways and means for defining, planning for and evaluating progress. This committee is not a standing committee, but may be constituted as a subcommittee of Council as seen fit.
The Long Range Planning Committee is responsible to the Congregation through Council for:
Identifying goals and objectives for Church progress.
Reporting regularly to the Council and Congregation.
The duties and activities of the Long Range Planning Committee include:
Under the direction of Council, carrying out planning studies, analyses and research as may be required.
Preparing for Council long term plans (5 years or more) for Woodroffe United Church that will identify areas of possible progress in various Church activities, programs and organizations.
Recommending to Council short range programs that will contribute to long range goals or objectives.
Devising procedures and methods for defining, planning for and evaluating Church progress and trends, including the use of periodic Congregational questionnaires.
Proposing realistic time-phased goals and objectives as milestones of progress as appropriate.
Advising the Council on future activities, needs, plans and programs.
Monitoring and evaluating progress in relation to agreed goals.
