An update from the Joint Needs Assessment Committee (June, 2010)
The Committee is finalizing its report and recommendations on WUC's ministry needs so that the document can be presented to Council and then to the Congregation. The timeline has changed somewhat and the Committee is now looking to discuss the report and recommendations with Council at its October meeting. If the report is accepted at that meeting, it will then be presented to the Congregation well in advance of a congregational meeting that would be convened for November 14. With congregational approval of the report and recommendations, the next step is presentation to Presbytery for approval at their mid-January meeting. Presbytery's approval then allows Woodroffe to proceed with the recommended actions.
The report includes a portrait of both the community in which Woodroffe ministers and the challenges and resources of the Congregation as well as an analysis of the responses to the congregational survey. It will most importantly make recommendations on our ministry personnel needs and work priorities, and the skill set necessary for ministry personnel at Woodroffe. This recommendation will include a proposal on the number of ministry personnel, the tasks to be assigned to ministry personnel and the skills necessary to carry out that ministry.
